A multidisciplinary group of CSIR researchers have been working with two major South African corporations – Santam (in collaboration with the University of Cape Town – UCT) and South African Breweries (in collaboration with WWF) – to help them gain a systematic understanding of how global change impacts on their natural
resources risk profile.
According to sustainability specialist Dr Lorren Haywood, failure to understand the linkages between the bio-physical Earth systems, ecological, socio-economic and external governance systems within which business operates, can spell disaster for even the most robust business.
